Looking for a fun and unique activity that everyone can enjoy? Try curling! It's a dynamic sport that combines physical skill and strategic thinking, and it's perfect for people of all ages, genders, and abilities. Whether you’re 8 or 80, curling offers a great way to have fun and stay active.
Curling is played between two teams, each with four players. The objective is simple: slide stones down the ice and try to get them closer to the centre of the target, known as the "house," than your opponents. Teams take turns delivering stones, and the team captains, called "skips," guide their teammates on which shots to play.
Each player gets two stones, and once all 16 stones have been delivered, that’s the end of a round, or an "end." Points are scored based on how many of your stones are closer to the center of the house than any of your opponents’ stones. Most games are played over 8 ends.
Ready to give it a go? Curl Aberdeen offers one-hour "Try Curling" sessions that are perfect for beginners. It’s a fantastic way to get a feel for the game, meet new people, and have some fun on the ice. Sessions are available for anyone aged 8 and up, and it's just £5 per person.
